SEBI proposes segregation of advisory and mutual fund distribution services

Media reports states that in its latest order, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has proposed for the segregation of advisory and mutual fund distribution services in the interest of investors. A mutual fund distributor receives commission for selling schemes, and hence is not recommended to be an investment advisor to avoid conflict of interest.
