Data from online transaction platforms like BSE Star MF and NSE NMFII showed that distributors have been increasingly using such platforms. Data from BSE Star MF claims that, in absolute terms, it is the largest distribution platform for mutual funds in India. The value of transaction in BSE Star MF increased from Rs. 44,234.63 crore in FY16 to Rs. 74,301.41 crore in FY17, reflecting a growth of 67.97%. Currently, there are 3,400 members registered with the platform of which 1,340 member are active. The value of transactions through NSE NMF II went up by 118.40 % to Rs. 16,649.40 crore in FY17 from Rs. 7,623.51 crore in FY16. NSE NMF II has 2,200 members of which over 1,550 are active.
