AMFI has produced a list of tier-I benchmarks that mutual funds can utilise for their open-ended debt schemes based on the potential risk class (PRC) matrix. AMFI has supplied two options for each fund category for funds that fall in the least risky cell of the matrix. Fund houses can select between the Nifty Liquid-Low Credit Risk Index and the CRISIL Liquid Fund Index-Low Credit Risk when it comes to liquid funds. Fund houses must pick between Nifty Liquid-Moderate Credit Risk Index and CRISIL Liquid Fund Index-Medium Credit Risk if the liquid fund is in the 'low interest risk and moderate credit risk' category.
