SEBI restricts MFs to invest in ST bank deposits

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a circular providing clarification with regards to short term deposits (STDs) of scheduled commercial banks. The market regular clarified that AMCs cannot invest the fund of a scheme in STDs of banks that have invested in that scheme. Similarly, the fund houses also need to ensure that no banks invest in their schemes that have parked money in the STD of such banks.
