SEBI proposes incentive for whistle-blowers

According to media reports, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has proposed fresh norms to protect and reward whistle-blowers on informing activities and entities involved in insider trading. The discussion paper recommends to maintain informer anonymity and frame rules to avoid any penalization. In addition, the paper proposes to fix a monetary reward in case of recovery of Rs. 5 crore and above.
