SEBI planning to dilute certain provisions regarding FPIs

According to media reports, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) may consider diluting certain provisions regarding foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) that was laid down by the regulator in a circular in Apr 2018. SEBI is contemplating excluding people of Indian origin (POIs) from the Know Your Customer (KYC) norms. The regulator has deferred the new norm’s implementation by two months to discuss and resolve a host of issues.
